The first meeting of the National Platform for a Sustainable Nuclear Power (PNNS), also SIMIC among the participating companies operating in the nuclear sector, was held today at the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security.

 

The meeting, chaired by Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, was attended by leading public research organizations, representatives from the world of universities, scientific associations, public entities operating in the field of nuclear safety and decommissioning, as well as companies that already have investment programs in the nuclear sector, in the production of components and plants and in medical applications in the nuclear sector.

 

The PNNS aims to define a path aimed at the possible resumption of the use of nuclear energy in Italy and the opportunities for growth of the national industrial chain already operating in the sector, within a certain timeframe.

 

SIMIC is proud to be able to contribute to the ambitious project, making available to the PNNS its experience gained in important international orders in the nuclear sector and scientific research.
