🤝 The SIMIC “Site Erection and Maintenance” Business Unit has successfully participated in the construction of the new “3SUN-Gigafactory” in Catania, on behalf of “3SUN https://www.linkedin.com/company/3sun-srl , a ENEL Green Power https://www.linkedin.com/company/enel_green_power company, a world leader in electricity production.

✅ The new plant in Sicily, branded “Fabbrica del Sole”, represents a turning point in the solar energy landscape in Europe, it’s in fact an example of how technological innovation and commitment to sustainability can contribute to creating a cleaner and more independent energy future, another demonstration of the excellence “Made in Italy”.

✅ The contribution of SIMIC was crucial, in fact we took care of the design and installation of steel structures and cutting-edge mechanical systems, including compressed air systems, cooling, wastewater treatment and thermal management. Thanks to the use of advanced technologies, such as 3D design and the #BIM digital system, we have built over 34 km of pipes and installed more than 1000 tons of steel structures.

🧑🏼‍🔧 SIMIC has employed up to 250 local resources on the Catania site, i.e. more than 80% of the workforce involved in the construction site; logistics and most of the prefabrication activities of the products were carried out with the involvement of qualified local mechanical workshops.

With the aim of actively collaborating in the “Green” construction site philosophy, the materials purchased and supplied were chosen from batches obtained by reworking material 70% coming from the recycling chain.
