SIMIC at the World Fusion Energy Group and FEC2025 in China
Last week, SIMIC took part in the 2nd Ministerial Meeting of the IAEA World Fusion Energy Group and the 30th IAEA Fusion Energy Conference (FEC2025) held in Chengdu, China — key global events shaping the future of fusion energy.
Marianna Ginola, Head of Nuclear, Fusion Energy and Research di SIMIC e Membro del Board della European Fusion Association (EFA), ha preso parte al panel “Fusion Supply Chain: From Research to Industrialisation”, illustrando come l’Europa possa trasformare il proprio ecosistema di ricerca di eccellenza in un vero e proprio settore industriale.
In her intervention, Marianna stressed three priorities for Europe’s fusion roadmap:
1️⃣ Early industrial involvement in system design, turning companies into partners rather than suppliers.
2️⃣ Standardisation and harmonised frameworks across regulation, qualification and R&D.
3️⃣ Long-term stability to foster investment in skills, facilities, and technology.
During the same week, SIMIC also engaged in networking and technical visits across several Chinese regions, meeting with valued partners and potential clients.
Fusion energy is gaining unprecedented momentum worldwide, a collective effort where science, industry, and international collaboration converge to shape a cleaner and more resilient energy future.
💡 Fusion energy is no longer just research, it’s becoming industry.
