The successful candidate will join the Electron Beam Welding (EBW) department, where work is carried out on superconducting cavities for major scientific research projects and on components for various industrial sectors, including aerospace, marine, and nuclear fusion. Reporting directly to the EBW Manager, the candidate will be responsible for the preparation and mechanical assembly of components for welding, with an initial training period, as well as for setting welding parameters on the machine. You will assist in drafting welding procedures and supporting the Quality Department (WPS, PQR, etc.), and work closely with the Technical Department on the design and optimization of EBW system equipment. You will perform welding tests (test pieces and mock-ups) on new components, materials, and thicknesses, interpret technical drawings, and report any critical issues, as well as assist with quality control, including visual and non-destructive testing (immersion ultrasonics). The role will also include regular maintenance of the welding plant and related equipment.
Requirements:
- Technical diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent;
- Knowledge of technical drawing, mechanics, and materials (niobium, copper, stainless steel, etc.);
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings;
- Independence, initiative, and ability to work in a team;
- Willingness to work shifts;
- Strong problem-solving skills and adherence to safety regulations.
