SIMIC, together with Fusion for Energy (F4E), celebrates the completion of the first 4 ITER Divertor Cassette Bodies

June 3, 2026

SIMIC celebrates a major milestone in the ITER project: the completion of the first four Divertor Cassette Bodies, strategic components of the world’s largest international nuclear fusion project currently under construction in Cadarache, France.

The event, organized together with Fusion for Energy (F4E) and attended by representatives of the ITER Organization (IO), confirms SIMIC’s role as a leading industrial partner within the European fusion supply chain and highlights more than 20 years of continuous collaboration in support of the ITER project.

This achievement represents not only a technological and industrial milestone of excellence, but also a concrete step toward the future of fusion energy in Europe.

We are also proud to announce the signing of a new contract with F4E for the production of an additional 15 Divertor Cassette Bodies.

On this occasion, SIMIC was pleased to welcome Giorgio Bergesio, Senator of the Italian Republic; Massimo Antoniotti, Vice President of the Province of Cuneo; Massimiliano Romano, Mayor of Camerana; and Adriano Manfredi, Mayor of Gottasecca. Underscoring the strategic importance of the project for Europe’s energy future, video messages were also delivered by Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, Italy’s Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, and Alberto Cirio, President of the Piedmont Region.

A special thank you to all our colleagues, collaborators, partners, and institutional stakeholders whose dedication and commitment made this important milestone possible!
