The first European superconducting magnet has been shipped and reached the port of Marseille; to preserve and protect it during transport, it was "packed" by a storage frame, a 100-tonne structure that brought the total weight of the load to 420 tons! The impressive "magnet" was unloaded from the ship and fixed on a trailer to be transferred to a barge that will carry it across the Étang-de-Berre inland sea to the ITER site, the expected arrival is April 3rd.
